Cherry harvester SU:
Cherry harvester is designed for picking not only cherries but also other drupaceous fruits like f.ex. plums. The fruits are being strewn from the tree then, all impurities like leaves or small branches are removed by a fan and the fruits are being dumped into coxes or box pallets.
A very innovative solution is a co-called upside down „umbrella”, opened under the tree before the strewing.
The first prototype built in 2008 confirmed the rightness of our plans. The idea of a strewer equipped in the “umbrella” and a fan was a success. During 2009 season we prepared a series of test devices GACEK which was greeted with a high interest from potential users. We keep collecting ideas and suggestions that would help us improve the next models.
Service requires only 3 persons: a tractor driver, a strewer operator and a device operator.
Cherry harvester is advised for small orchards with the area to 5 ha. It is possible to pick fruits from 50 to 60 trees per hour in the best conditions. The device requires a tractor with an exterior hydraulic system and a productivity of minimum 20 liters/minute.
To achieve the best results it’s very important to prepare the orchard properly. A suggested distance between the rows is minimum 4 meters. The distance between the trees should be 2,2 to 2,5 meters. The height of the trunk is also important and it should be minimum 0,7 meters. The diameter of the tree crown shouldn’t be more than 3,5 meters. The height of the trees can be much higher than in hand picked orchards.
